Hey, I'm Gerry!

I'm a trumpet player, music teacher, photographer, and graphic designer from Hillsboro, Oregon. After graduating from Glencoe High School in 2023, I started studying music education at Portland Community College.

Experience

Music Education

I have worked with several marching bands and indoor percussion groups including Glencoe High School, Southridge High School, and Beaverton High School, teaching both brass and visuals. I have also taught as a trumpet instructor at Evergreen Middle School and Whitford Middle School in addition to teaching private trumpet lessons.

Music Performance

I play several instruments, with my primary being the trumpet. I also play the guitar, bass, marching percussion, drum set, and I sing bass voice. I studied trumpet with Eben Heldreth from 2020-2025, and Steve Conrow from 2025-2026. I have played with several bands, including the Portland Community College Symphonic Band (Trumpet 2), the Portland Community College Jazz Ensemble (Trumpet 1-2), the Pacific University Wind Symphony (Trumpet 3), the Portland State University Wind Symphony (Trumpet 1-2), as well as playing trumpet and percussion with Sofi Nava's Latin Music Group in Hillsboro, OR.

Photography/Visual Design

I have worked with clients such as Flying Pig Music, Senile Vinyl, Sofi Nava, and Southridge High School, providing both photography and graphic design services. My photography includes portrait and promotional work, as well as amateur concert photography, capturing live performances and musical energy. In graphic design, I have created visuals for branding, merchandise, and promotional materials. My work focuses on visually representing musicians, performers, and businesses, ensuring that their unique identity and vision are effectively communicated through compelling imagery and design.
