Hey, I'm Gerry!

I'm a trumpet player, music teacher, photographer, and graphic designer from Hillsboro, Oregon. After graduating from Glencoe High School in 2023, I started studying music education at Portland Community College.

Experience

Music Education

I worked as a brass tech for Glencoe High School during the 2023-24 fall marching band season, and as of 2024 I am the Visual Caption Head at Southridge High School, as well as teaching visuals for the Southridge Indoor Percussion program. I have also taught trumpet at Evergreen Middle School and am currently a supplemental trumpet instructor at Whitford Middle School.

Music Performance

I play several instruments, with my primary being the trumpet. I also play the guitar, bass, marching percussion, drum set, and I sing bass voice. I have been studying trumpet with Eben Heldreth since 2020. I am currently the lead trumpet for the Portland Community College Jazz Ensemble, and play Trumpet 2 in the Symphonic Band. Previous ensembles I have played in include Glencoe High School's Wind Ensemble (Principal Trumpet), Glencoe HS Jazz Band (Lead Trumpet), Music In May Honor Band 2023 (1st Chair 3rd Trumpet), Portland Community College Chamber Choir (Bass), and the Pacific University Wind Symphony (Trumpet 3).

Photography/Visual Design

I have worked with clients such as Flying Pig Music, Senile Vinyl, Sofia Nava, and Southridge Indoor Percussion, providing both photography and graphic design services. My photography includes portrait and promotional work, as well as amateur concert photography, capturing live performances and musical energy. In graphic design, I have created visuals for branding, merchandise, and promotional materials. My work focuses on visually representing musicians, performers, and businesses, ensuring that their unique identity and vision are effectively communicated through compelling imagery and design.
